User based status limitation

We have teams on-site that are performing the data collection, thereafter the in office team is required to perform a quality check prior to final reports being produced and issued.

Would it be possible to limit a user to only select certain statuses? In our case I am looking at having the on-site staff not being able to select the "Completed" status as we use this as a trigger for reporting. Instead they will be limited to choosing a QC status, which notifies the office team to perform the required checks and change the status to "Completed".

Thanks a lot for reaching out.

Right now, there is no way to limit what status options a member role or user can see. I think this feature could be very useful for some workflows and I will share this with the development team.

Agreed. After my technicians have installed cold chain equipment in the field, I conduct a remote / virtual inspection and change status from "Complete" to 1 of 3 statuses:
    • "Validated" (perfect)
    • "Validated*" (ok but not great)
    • Re-install (fail)
After that, a technical supervisor inspects units flagged as problematic, and final status will be adjusted as required.

At the moment though, any technician can self validate records... even by mistake, which isn't good at all.

That said, having certain fields in a Fulcrum app, or certain statuses only accessible to specific user types would be awesome... and is actually critical for my applications.

We are currently going through the all the feedback received to begin planning our roadmap for the next calendar year.

I just wanted to let you know all know that this is now something that is possible with data events. Here is an example where the status choice options are filtered based on the user's role.

Thanks Alex -- I already implemented the fix with data events last month and very pleased. A lot more to do with these new capabilities for me but on leave for the time being so likely to get around to upgrades next month.

    All the best,
