Automatically create new repeatable records

We have a case where after the user creates the first repeatable record, some number of additional repeatable records are created; where the default value for most of the fields within the new repeatables should be populated with the values from the first repeatable record that was created. In essence, the first repeatable created asks as a template for all remaining repeatables.

Is there a way to 1) automatically create these additional repeatable records and 2) have their initial values come from the first repeatable that was created.

    Hello Paul,

There is no way to automatically create child records in a repeatable section within Fulcrum, but you can duplicate a child record by either long pressing (Android) or swiping left (iOS) on the record in the child record list view (mobile apps only). Then select the more option and then duplicate, you will then get three options on what you would like to copy over to the new child record.

    Thanks,
    Alex

Can child records be created via the API?

    Hey Paul,

Child records can be created via the API. If you are updating an existing (parent) record and appending child records, you'd want to GET the record, add the child record objects to the appropriate form_values section, and then send the update back as a PUT request. Let me know if you need additional help getting this up and running.
