Updating records

How can I control what user a records is 'updated_by' when I issue a PUT request?

I can't see how the API key is associated with a particular user.

Thanks, Steve

    Hello Steve,

There is no way to set the updated_by field. The system sets this based on the API key being used, which can only be obtained from a user with the 'owner' role.

Thanks Alex. So if I understand correctly, I could generate an API key
using a particular member account (that is an owner) and then any
subsequent changes made via that API key would appear as being by that user?

I'm hearing that the API key is tied to the account that generated it. Yes?

    Ta, Steve

That is correct, the created/updated_by fields are populated based on the API key that is used. So you could grant another user the owner role, grab that user's API key (there is a API tab on the settings page of the web app) and then everything done will that API key will be attributed to that user.
